Reasons---or excuses

Yes, your favourite line. Unfortunately, you know neither.

Been some time since I last saw you, friend. Heard a lot about you, and me, too, in school.
Yes, you.

I cannot simply deny the fact that you are a smart person. Manipulative and loquacious--
Kudos to the denigration : it seems like a lot of them has bought your story.
We're not as foolish as you think.

"Last badge's EXCOs are just useless. Well, ynnow, they have loads of conflicts with me, that's why I hold no posts."
"This GYLS Report 2010? I did that all alone. No one from the last badge has helped me"
"See this awesome Itouch? I got this in 2009 as Leader of the Week"

Lies, lies, and lies.

Such a shame that you are aware of the presence of integrity while spinning calumnies after calumnies. Well, I have no idea if you apprehend the whole idea of integrity. HAHA, yes no maybe--once again, your favourite tag line.

Looking at all your lies--your target is me. Not the EXCOs for PPS 2010, not us who went to GYLS 2010 and tasked to do the report together, nor the fabricated story of being the Leader of the Week.

Remonstrating me while obliquely making others believe that you are better.

Grow up.

You think being an iconoclast is idiosyncratic, you believe that by telling stories you're going to dampen my spirits, spoil my reputation;

you think by being this : you'll be happy while gaining pre-eminence.

Grow up.

And for those, those whom we trusted and had faith in, and who listened and whimsically changes your minds as easily as how she snaps her fingers---I am disappointed but not surprised.

I am not here to start a war, nor am I here to disregard you as a genius in schemes, having a bifurcate face and your well-hidden superficiality. And I'm not here to reveal the truth--we swore that it'll be confidential during every interview. And confidential it is.

All these started with you not getting the award in GYLS 2009 and a phone call from me to join PPS.

I do not want to blame you for being vindictive and revengeful. After all, that's how you make friends and divide the world into right or wrong, black and white, good and bad.

I wish you good luck in your life after secondary school, and please----

Grow up.

Signed, Your disappointed nemesis.

"You're too kind. Stop being that kind."

Well I suppose if more people stop saying that to kind souls and start being a lil' bit nicer to those around them,

this world, will be a better place to live in.

"We do not need the votes of the Chinese and the Indians"

(Datuk Johari Bin Abdul Ghani--Umno Titiwangsa Division Chief. Currently top my list of Stupidest Malaysian Politician. Should appear in Reader's Digest world's most ridiculous politicians.)

Joke of the Year

"Kita tidak perlu undi Orang Cina dan Orang India"

*claps*

That's the biggest joke I've ever heard, so far. There may be more, seeing them ruling the country with that signature 'tidak apa' attitude. Oh wait, or maybe they don't even know how to rule a country, tidak apa-lah.

Dear Datuk, winning votes by segregating people into races--is totally a kick in your own nuts. This backfires the big SATU MALAYSIA vision, and it is so obvious that this dictum carries a meaning too deep for you to understand.

First, by saying that you can win the seat by gaining the votes of a certain race : everybody knows it's a mistake. The mistake lies in here : why is the government trying to win votes using tenuous ways instead or serving the people and earn deserving votes? The Malaysian people trust the government to flourish their lives with the income taxes they pay, but instead they see their money gone perished; schemes of winning votes are so inept, that it becomes a joke itself. The case of giving out RM100 in CASH to every school kid in government schools is one of the many examples. I mean, c'mon, "who uses RM100 on books?"---(a status on Facebook by a Malaysian student, with a high number of likes : 61) A government who truly wants to serve their people would use better ideas to benefit them : conduct a survey, interviews, etc, work alongside with educators and book publishers/retail sellers, find out which book gives intellectual benefits to students, giving out VOUCHERS of various bookshops. In a nutshell, do the difficult but proper way. I do not have the solutions myself--it's your job instead, Datuk.

Walao giving out cash to students are like giving roses to peanuts. Or walnuts. whatever. Even common sense can tell that.

And let me conclude that with the explicit truth : Our government is on the wrong track.
You, are on the wrong track, Datuk. With that tidak-apa attitude, I guess this is not a thing to be worried about. So don't worry too much, the people are doing all the worrying for you.

Secondly, true, they have all the statistics in their area. This means they do have manpower to get these number. Seeing you announcing the figures of different races so succinctly, I know I'll never have a government who lead us into cultivating acceptance among different races. If and only if they could instead find out what's troubling the people, and have figures to come out with the top-ten improvements GREATLY needed. The first one should be public toilets---and I strongly believe that with the amount of taxes each father pays it's enough to make public toilets usable.

and the most erroneous and disturbing thing is :

these people in our government are taking us for granted.

"Kita tidak perlu undi Orang Cina dan Orang India."

Let me tell you this, dear Datuk : yes, Malaysians may be voting their government, and you can still buy  diamond ring$ for your wife, or build mansion$ with our money, our sweat and blood. We may not be capricious enough to change this country : many of us, the younger ones, are perished in your dirty game of politics. An increase in juvenile delinquency highlights the failure part of our education system. You may think most of us are disillusioned with your public affability with the people. Good luck. Good luck for the upcoming elections then.

The people are greatly disappointed, but this is their home and their family. That's one thing I would very much like you to know : we still love this country. But don't be the Grim Reaper that tears this beautiful land apart, and a friendly reminder--you're already halfway there. Any more of the 'tidak-apah' side in governing this state may lead to more unfathomable-s, you and I clearly know this. The question is on how much you're willing to accept to continue being accepted as the government.

Stop the Jingoism. Start the Job.

**************************************************************************
I'll end this with a joke since all of us are jokers. I still have a lot to learn from you tho, Datuk.

"During National Day I cried when I see the fireworks. Not because I'm super patriotic or what--but because I see my taxes blasting off in the sky every year without fail, just like that."

Thanks to the abolishment of ISA I can safely say I am safe, unless, of course, a promise is not kept, again. Or rather it is nothing but a political fraud.

I still remember the day

You said I deserve better.

Thank you friend, you're right all along.
I truly deserve better. And I'm...
I'm truly happy that I've let go.

The Little Things we care everyday

Yes, I do care.
Caring is sharing.
I care for you, said your former boyfriend,
who left you in the dark
when you start to see light.
Obama-care ;
"I dont care if they say I don't
I do"

Yes, there's something in this world which we care
Your parents, your friends, your hair, your blood, your body
Your soul, or maybe soulmate.

I care. I care, and I really do.
I care for my future, and I'm ready to give up anything for dreams bigger than what I'm having now.
I care for the task I'm given, or the duty I'm responsible to.
I care for the future of my country, and for this I really do even if everyone says I'm crazy.
I care for the uncle who plays his Er-Hu dutifully on the streets everyday, singing with his toothless grin.
I care for the mum who lost his son, and his body covered only by a sheet.
My heart ache when I read about girls being raped casually.
I cried when a boy is not buried when he's dead, just because they could not find a grave site in Somalia
I teared when I see the conditions in Madina Camp, where refugees crowd in makeshift shelters.

Yup, this statement says it all
I am no hero, neither am I a heroin.
and No, I not here to say I will become one.

But there's one thing that keeps me wondering : if we, as young people, as youths
as the generation with so much passion and energy
and when we know little about failure
knowing that courage is not the absence of fear,
but the judgement that something else is more important than fear
If, and if only if,
everyone of us
care less about our hair-do
and care more on the suburban children who are struggling to continue their education
care less on where we're going to chiil-ax
and care more on those without a roof above their heads.
care less about our broken friendships and failed relationships
and focus on building a brighter future for our children, and change what's needed to be changed
fix what's needed to be fixed.
care a little less on the clothes we wear, and what the others might think of us
and take a good look at the world around us, without the judging glasses we used to wear
care less on the amount of money we have
and care more on the amount of love we can give, especially to strangers
.......................................................................................................................

This world, regardless on how bad the world leaders are
how unpromising the economy might be
how dissapointing the government could be
or how hard life is to you----
----will certainly be much, much, much more better than it is.

I'm not here to say : look here, bro
stop being that selfish and think your life's a total crap
nor am I here to say : see I C-A-R-E.
no, there's still a long way there for me.
But I'm ready to take up the challenge
to be reponsible for changes
to care less on what I do not have, or do not possess
and to help the others, who might be experiencing more pain than me
To look at the world from the underneath of a glass bottom boat
and to lead a life's journey with a sense of purpose;
knowing that what I have and what I do not have makes a huge difference to the people around me.

"If not me, then who?
If not now, then when?"

Let's start this now, Li Shing.

Appraciating the wonders of little wonderful things in the midst of the hectic J1 life

All these things that's happening around me when I was happily typing away in front of my keyboard

Someone staying back in college for sports training
Some cat got bitten by ants
A young girl tying up her loosen shoe lace
and another one probably enjoying chips on her desk after 3 hours of mugging.
Some bottle of 100 plus got into a package to be delivered.
Some silly guy poured coffee over the table
Some...................Ok I run out of list, temporarily.
......................................................................................................................................................

You get the idea. Randomness.

Randomness is not a good thing entirely, but it is not a bad thing.

Reasons for why it is not a good thing
1. It makes your points in GP essays vague
2. Some markers are too dumb to read between the lines and appreciate randomness
3. Random jokes make othere shiver, and yet it is a good thing cos' it lowers the Earth's temperature (I'm gonna include this in the later part of this post, T-HEE)
4. People tend NOT to give you the reaction you so want them to, and THAT LOOK.
5. And sometimes, just sometimes, random people are being labelled as dorks.

and Here's the list I very much prefer more.

The awesome litany of reasons why being random is super duper fun!!
1. Randomness lowers down the Earth temperature (refer above statement)
2. Super lame jokes make me laugh without a reason, and it is fun replying people " I HASN'T A SINGLE DAMN IDEA!!" when people ask you why u laugh, and when they give you THE LOOK.
3. Funny people are random, and random people are funny.
4. Random people are smart, and smart people are the most random bunch of people on Earth I've met.
5. They just make you smile and laugh, whole-heartedly, without you expecting it.
6. You got a chance to give those random peeps THE LOOK, and Laugh your head out after that. (I don't understand why people need to laugh their arses off but head seems fine to me, after all the mouth has a smaller proximity to the head)
7. Well, you can write about anything you want, anytime, anywhere! Even when you're on some escalator carrying groceries with your both hands, you'll be random enough to pen some ideas in some corner of your brain.
8. Because being random is being me.
9. Being random makes a person stop, listen, think and feel. Most people I know jump into conclusions faster than the speed of an airplane, before others have the chance to finish their sentence. That is how random people tend to create the most incredible ideas and inventions in the world.
10. sometimes random people are just too lazy to categorize their stuff
11. Randomness is part of creation, just as failure is part of success
12. Random people hate unexplained, authoritative rules. They just hate the idea of having rules in the first place. I understand the important of rules, but, hey, some of them are really redundant.
13. They see the link, the connection to every single thing around them. The awareness, which many do not possess, honestly, has make dreams after dreams into realities.

Which I randomly want to add in two points to the previous list :
6. Because the lack of randomness has wreck dreams which could very well be a reality.
7. Because, un-random people are dead boring people to be around (Only 1% of the people I falls in this category)

Let's count how many people we meet in life that is random enough to notice the subtle yet beautiful events around them. (tiny things often are..just look at me XD)

I myself, having a radar for randomness enough to say that... most of the people I met,

ARE RANDOM ENOUGH TO BE AWESOME :)

Of frivolity and fundamentality

Let me start this off with a few scenarios

A person spending more on clothes rather than books.
A company investing more in advertisements than improvements on a good.
A wedding planned so furiously to make it grander than the other counsin's wedding while all the couple need is each other after the ceremony.

I did not imply that a bit of frills and trills every now and then is BAD, nor it is malicious till we need to stay away from it.

Did anyone notice how simplicity seem to bring out the very core of an action, an event, and every story to happen? I have not the wisdom yet to do so.

But one thing I do notice is that...the people
more and more people are give more attention to what is outside rather than what is inside.
Just look at the amount of people trying so hard to look nice
to dress up
and tonnes of make up on their faces
while forgetting that what pleases someone is not how you look, but what you are.

See those advertisements around us!
How many of them tell the truth? Yes, but how much of the truth?

Look at the effort lecturers put on the slides! I begin to see more and more animation PLUS cartoons, and is there a giraffee in the economics lecture slides?

Weddings are weddings, and now we have wedding planners too? oh and they are paid? for some lavish stuff? Haha yeah some people just want to enjoy the wealth they earned or they had born with. Look at the royal wedding, and how much more people yearn to have this kind of wedding. Some even wed for the sake of some lavish weddings and a lifelong opportunity to spend without having to think twice seeing that their prospective spounses are rich, or maybe they can file up a divorce or something.........
And yet the most important thing about a wedding is the tying up of two individuals.
Yes I do agree appearance do more that what it should at times, and people appreciate you when you look nicer, when things look nicer, when presentations are more graphical...

But somehow I think most efforts are wasted on it. Sad to say, I can't help but to do the same thing, maybe not that much effort, but still.
