Caring is sharing.
I care for you, said your former boyfriend,
when you start to see light.
Obama-care ;
"I dont care if they say I don't
I do"
Yes, there's something in this world which we care
Your parents, your friends, your hair, your blood, your body
Your soul, or maybe soulmate.
I care. I care, and I really do.
I care for my future, and I'm ready to give up anything for dreams bigger than what I'm having now.
I care for the task I'm given, or the duty I'm responsible to.
I care for the future of my country, and for this I really do even if everyone says I'm crazy.
I care for the uncle who plays his Er-Hu dutifully on the streets everyday, singing with his toothless grin.
I care for the mum who lost his son, and his body covered only by a sheet. My heart ache when I read about girls being raped casually.
I cried when a boy is not buried when he's dead, just because they could not find a grave site in SomaliaI teared when I see the conditions in Madina Camp, where refugees crowd in makeshift shelters.
Yup, this statement says it all |
I am no hero, neither am I a heroin.
and No, I not here to say I will become one.
But there's one thing that keeps me wondering : if we, as young people, as youths
and when we know little about failure knowing that courage is not the absence of fear,
but the judgement that something else is more important than fear
If, and if only if,
everyone of us
care less about our hair-do
and care more on the suburban children who are struggling to continue their education
care less on where we're going to chiil-ax
and care more on those without a roof above their heads.
care less about our broken friendships and failed relationships
and focus on building a brighter future for our children, and change what's needed to be changed
fix what's needed to be fixed.
care a little less on the clothes we wear, and what the others might think of us
and take a good look at the world around us, without the judging glasses we used to wear
care less on the amount of money we have
and care more on the amount of love we can give, especially to strangers
.......................................................................................................................
This world, regardless on how bad the world leaders are
how unpromising the economy might be
how dissapointing the government could be
or how hard life is to you----
----will certainly be much, much, much more better than it is.
I'm not here to say : look here, bro
stop being that selfish and think your life's a total crap
nor am I here to say : see I C-A-R-E.
no, there's still a long way there for me.
But I'm ready to take up the challenge
to be reponsible for changes
to care less on what I do not have, or do not possess
and to help the others, who might be experiencing more pain than me
To look at the world from the underneath of a glass bottom boat
and to lead a life's journey with a sense of purpose;
knowing that what I have and what I do not have makes a huge difference to the people around me.
"If not me, then who?
If not now, then when?"
Let's start this now, Li Shing.
